We're looking forward to welcoming you, learning from you, exploring ideas with you, and having a good time together! While you can keep tabs on the latest scheduling updates at our website, here are some details we want to be sure you know about:
MEETING THEME + CALL FOR SESSION PROPOSALS
This year's theme,"By the People, For the People: Increasing Access to State and Territorial Records," focuses on accessibility in many forms -- physical, technological, and intellectual. CoSA members are invited to submit session proposals based on the meeting theme.
The Program Planning Committee wishes to build a dynamic opportunity to have conversations around issues that are unique to State and Territorial Archives. As you consider the theme, think about the broad questions you might ask:
- What issues do state and territorial archives have with physical accessibility?
- What technologies are we using to make records available?
- How do you deal with statutory restrictions on access?
- How can collections policies, retention schedules, or deaccession policies help increase access?
- What outreach programs have been successful at promoting the Archives?
Let this be your chance to share your experiences with your peers and colleagues in these areas or your own examples on improving access. We strongly encourage you to partner with other state or territorial archives to collaborate on a panel or present individually. Please use this Google Sheet if you'd like to work on collaborating on a session (feel free to use the Community discussion groups to share your ideas and look for collaborators, too!).
The deadline for submission is April 19, 2024.
Please submit proposals electronically via this online form. Proposals should include:
- Presenter(s) name, job title, institution/organization, and email address
- Title of proposed session
- Brief (50-250 word) abstract of session to be used in conference program
- Preferred format (presentation, panel, lightning talk, roundtable, workshop, or other)
- Length of presentation (30 minutes or 45 minutes)
Submission deadline is April 19, 2024. Notification of proposal acceptance will go out in early May. Questions? info@statearchivists.org
