In this presentation, staff from NARA’s Office of the Chief Records Officer will provide an overview of NARA’s Federal Electronic Records Modernization Initiative (FERMI). FERMI is designed to help Federal agencies obtain electronic records management (ERM) solutions and services fitting their needs through an improved procurement process and to proactively address changing trends in ERM by setting policy for new solutions and services. Anyone attending this session will learn how they can access and use the resources being developed by NARA in their own ERM efforts. Staff from the Oregon State Archives will share how the Oregon Records Management Solution (ORMS) has grown and changed over decade since its launch. Additionally, they will dig into how this established program fits into the state’s move to an increasingly virtual work environment in M365 and other field-specific systems. Attendees should walk away with questions and discussion points for their own programs as they navigate the growing web of interconnected programs that host records.
