Trustworthy Repositories Audit and Certification: Criteria and Checklist
Home Resources Resource Center Trustworthy Repositories Audit and Certification: Criteria and Checklist
Trustworthy Repositories Audit & Certification: Criteria and Checklist (TRAC), based upon the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) Reference Model framework, was developed by a task force under the auspices of OCLC's Research Libraries Group (RLG) and the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). TRAC audits repositories as Trusted Digital Repositories. The final version of TRAC, published in 2007, also draws upon the experience and findings of test audits of several repositories by the Center for Research Libraries in 2005-2006. TRAC was functionally superseded by the Trustworthy Digital Repository Checklist (TDR) ISO 16363 in 2012, which is based on TRAC. As of August 2013, ISO 16363 is a published standard but the accreditation process for ISO 16363 auditors has not been completed and thus no repositories are yet able to be audited for ISO 16363 compliance.
