The Delaware Public Archives seeks a diligent and detail-oriented processing archivist to join
our team and arrange, describe, and preserve archival material. The employee in this role will
adhere to a predefined metadata schema and archival principles such as provenance and
order. Basic preservation techniques will be applied to damaged and at-risk material. Frequent
professional development opportunities are available. The employee will receive supervision
from the Records Services Supervisor.
Essential duties include identifying, classifying, indexing, housing, and imaging historical
documents. Knowledge and experience with scanning technology would be helpful. Experience
with Microsoft Office programs is needed. Training on preservation, arrangement, description,
and handling will be provided by experienced Archives staff.
This position is part-time, 29.75 hours weekly, at $16.87 per hour.
