    Dear CoSA community,

During our March 7th archivist call, we introduced a new survey mechanism to the group. Modeled after NASCIO's annual Top Ten Policy and Technology Priorities, results from CoSA's priorities survey will guide the content for our annual meeting, remaining educational webinars, and advocacy priorities. Special thanks to Anne Ackerson and Lori Ashley who helped this idea take shape as well as the members of the CoSA Board, Advocacy Committee, and Program Planning Committee for their valuable feedback.

The core of this survey is a single question asking you to rank a list of 19 issues from the most to least important to you and your agency. Following the ranking, we ask three demographic questions: your institution, your employment category, and a description of your primary responsibilities. The demographic information you provide will help our board and committees understand any trends in ranking that may emerge across responses.

We are distributing the survey to all of our CoSA community contacts, and we encourage you to encourage those you work with to contribute their rankings. The results will be shared broadly to coalesce the membership around 10 top issues for 2024/25 and to guide CoSA’s advocacy, research, and education programming as it moves into the final years of its current strategic plan and positions itself for its next plan.

    Take the survey now.

Submit your responses by Friday, March 15, 2024. The survey is attached, for your reference. Note that this survey is for anyone who works in one of our 56 CoSA institutions. The first question eliminates anyone who does not work in a CoSA member institution and allows them to give us their contact information so we can share the results once compiled. The Board will be looking at initial responses next week during a special in-person strategy meeting, so we value your prompt response. If you have any questions, reach out to me or Anne (aackerson@statearchivists.org).
