    The San Diego County Archives at the Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk is hiring for two Processing Archivists to join our team!     The Processing Archivist reports to the County Archivist and will manage and coordinate the processing, arrangement, and descriptive activities related to the collection holdings at the County Archives. The County Archives is responsible for managing the long-term storage and preservation of and access to documents recorded by the Recorder/County Clerk. As of September 2022, holdings include an estimated 66,554 recorded maps / 171,649 sheets of maps, 116.05 cubic ft. of historic birth, death, and marriage records, 448.65 cubic ft. of official records, and 33,114 rolls of microfilm.

    Please note that while the position is technically classified as a County Records Manager, it is exclusively focused on leading archival processing projects. Archivists who have earned a graduate degree in library and information studies from an accredited university and have 3 years of experience are eligible and encouraged to apply under Minimum Qualification option #4.
