This webinar comes from the museum sector and might be of interest for some of you who are thinking about how archives might have a role in engaging Gen Z:
HOW CAN MUSEUMS BE CIVIC HUBS FOR GEN Z?
As today's young adults (Gen Z) set the agenda for America's future, in a nation they describe as "chaotic and intolerant," they are seeking out context on "how we got here" from credible sources to inform their civic participation. Museums have an opportunity to serve -- but our resources aren't reaching this demographic. Made By Us, 200 museums joining forces to provide timely, relevant information to youth, will share data on Gen Z's reality and needs and how small shifts can unleash museums' capacity to serve.
Presenters:
Caroline Klibanoff is the Executive Director of Made By Us, a US@250 Fellow at New America and a research associate at Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Made By Us meets young adults where they are, through pop culture, entertainment, partnerships and programs, powered by history and civics expertise from hundreds of museums – so young people can shape the future of the United States.
Cameron Katz is the Community Engagement Manager for Made By Us. Through her work with Made By Us, Cameron frequently speaks, writes, and creates content about history, civic engagement, and Gen-Z's power to shape America's future. She manages the Made By Us social media channels and online community, bringing creativity and history together.
