Does the idea of speaking out about your archives and asking for support for it give you the chills? Do you think that you're "just" a lowly staff member and no one would listen to what you think? If so, join us for our monthly CoSA member webinar. We will hear about an on-going project to discuss archives with the people who appropriate funds (the legislators). We will also hear from one state archives who has had some success in getting funding because they spoke out about their archives. You never know when you might get a chance to speak out!

Join the CoSA Advocacy Committee for a discussion about Advocacy and Archives. Advocacy Chair Catherine J. Newsome, Louisiana State Archivist will share tips from her recent work with the Louisiana State Legislative Session. Bryan Whitfield, Public Service Librarian at Central Michigan University and Coordinator for Archives on the Hill will discuss the Archives on the Hill advocacy initiative, including some history and future plans. We will also hear from several CoSA members who participated in this year's Archives on the Hill. Come prepared to learn or share. There will be time dedicated to group discussion on your own advocacy journey.
