This month, in celebration of the holiday season, we are looking for some suggestions for Santa's elves
"What tool/program/idea would make a great stocking stuffer for an archivist?" or "If you've been really good, what really big present should Santa bring you at the archives this year?"
For the first question, do you have some tool or program or whatever that just makes your job easier, that's your "go-to" tool/program/whatever? Sometimes it's the little things that make the most difference in our day. it doesn't even have to be an archival "tool" - be creative!
For the second question, what would you REALLY like to receive at your archives - is there a new high-speed book scanner, is there a program that would really be useful? Remember, Santa doesn't look at price tags - he just gifts deserving archivists with great gifts!
Whatever IT IS, we hope you pop on Chatting and share with us!
Now, just attending and sharing a story will be great, but for those overachievers (and you know who you are....), consider bringing a digitization of the item as you share your excitement or if you want to home your presentation skills, create a brief (up to 4 slides) powerpoint and practice sharing your screen on a Zoom meeting! We are a no-judgement zone, so who better to practice with?
Never been to a Chatting with CoSA? That's OK, we hope you will join us. We promise that we don't bite! We might ask you to introduce yourself and tell us what position you hold at your archives. You might find a kindred soul and make a connection.
