    The California Secretary of State's Archives Division (State Archives) is seeking to fill a permanent, full-time Staff Services Analyst position in our Records Management and Appraisal Unit. As a member of this unit, individuals have the opportunity to provide records management expertise and training to state and local agencies. This position will report directly to the Records Management Manager and support the Division's initiatives to strengthen statewide records management and to preserve and provide increased online access to California's historic records. Selected applicants will be required to complete, "Completed Staff Work" training within one year of hiring.
    Duties may include but are not limited to:
    • Opportunity to create innovative and engaging online services.
    • Establish partnerships with diverse group of stakeholders and advocate for Division's programs and initiatives.
    • Create tools and resources for the Records Management Coordinator toolkit to assist with state agency compliance with the State Records Management Act.
    • Conduct training and develop presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Analyze program statistics and information to develop reports and provide recommendations to increase efficiency and effectiveness of overall program.
    • Track program deadlines, training schedule, site visits, and maintain logs, databases, reports, and statistics.
    • Track and analyze related policy and regulatory items.
    • Prepare, analyze, and monitor industry trends in records management and related issues.
    • Establish and maintain contacts within state and local government entities and other external organizations.
    • Draft proposed policies and procedures, newsletters, and outreach communications.
    • Research, review, and advise state agencies on records management topics including records retention, paperwork reduction/digitization, disposition, identifying historical records, and conducting record inventories.
    • Communicate, in writing and verbally, with internal and external partners.
