While microfilming has long been the gold standard for capturing archival documents, changes in the technology have caused archivists to question "Is Microfilming still a viable medium?" Denise Henderson, Director of Digitization in the Digitization Division of the Office of Research Services at NARA will discuss NARA's initiative to digitize the microfilm holdings, the challenges they are facing and the status of the project. David Ware and Terra Titsworth from the Arkansas State Archives and Shawn Rounds from the Minnesota Historical Society will discuss the challenges they face as they continue the use of microfilming and why they believe this is still a viable technology for archives.
