Viewshare.org is a free web application for generating and customizing views (interactive maps, timelines, facets, tag clouds) that allow users to interact with and explore cultural heritage digital collections.

In addition, it is known that Viewshare is a Software as a Service (SaaS) and is hosted by Rackspace in San Antonio, Texas. Viewshare can import data in the following forms: 1) simple rectangular Excel spreadsheets or csv files; 2) XML MODS; 3) Dublin Core Data from an OAI-PMH endpoint; 4) JSON data available via a public URL; or 5) a CONTENTdm database.
Recollection Wisconsin has used Viewshare since 2012 to provide multiple access points to contributing partners' digital collections (http://viewshare.org/views/WiHeritage/browse-collections-recollection-wisconsin/) and to sort digital collections in alignment with state standards for teaching K-12 social studies and history (http://viewshare.org/views/WiHeritage/recollection-wisconsin-collections-for-social-stud/).
