    Hi everyone,

The message that Corinne posted earlier today is a very welcome prompt for this message. Following the lack of responses to the last poll re: availability, I should have gone ahead and simply scheduled a meeting, but I got knocked sideways by a series of health issues. When I recovered, my SERI Education and Programming Subcommittee colleagues and I decided that we would wait until summer, SAA, and BPE were over and people were more likely to be back at work before taking action.

Now that the BPE is over, let's get moving. Corinne and Brian, do you have any ideas as to how you would like to proceed? I'm more than happy to set up another poll, set up meetings, and do whatever else is necessary to get this group back up and running.

    Best wishes,

    Bonnie

    Thanks Bonnie!

I didn't really have much in mind except to be more mindful to post a question here when it comes up. I'm not sure we need to meet officially but it could be nice to maybe to do a short Zoom coffee break every so often to just chat about what we are working on or struggling with. I know it's frustrating when you try to google a problem and the answers are just like why don't you just use this thing that ITS said you can't use.

It would be awesome if some day we could make a github repository or something broader like Awesome ArchivesSpace: https://github.com/archivesspace/awesome-archivesspace

    Hi Corinne,

At our last meeting, Alejandra Dean indicated that she would be willing to set up an unofficial GitHub repository for the group. I'll follow up with her and see if we can get the ball rolling. (And if CoSA ever creates an official GitHub presence, anything on the unofficial site can be migrated over with ease. )

Also at our last meeting, we talked about setting up a monthly get-together that would enable people to discuss their current projects and exchange ideas. If the group is still interested, I would be more than happy to set something up.

    Best wishes,

    Bonnie

    Hi all,

Sorry for the delay on the Github repo! My IT department has not granted me permission to create the repository so I will either have to do it on my own time or if someone else is willing to take it on, that'd be fine too. I'll see if I can carve out some time this weekend.

I'd love to hear feedback from other folks before we make a decision! I know I had my email notifications all wonky so I was missing messages before. So would it be worth reaching out more directly?

    Hi everyone.
Post BPE i've been swamped with a bunch of stuff that came together all at once. Sorry about not responding. It is clearing a bit now.

I personally think an establish meeting time would be better than ad-hoc since I tend to not to think about things not immediately in front of me. As needed should be available if we need it, in my opinion. And, of course, posting questions as a thread. Thursday morning is consistently taken up with meetings if we want to talk scheduling.

I've been getting messages, no more than one in a day though. Private email is cool for me if someone has a direct question, but threads seem better (imo) for group chat.
