As outlined in North Carolina’s General Statutes 132 and 121, the State Archives of North Carolina (SANC) serves dual purposes within the state: to provide guidance concerning the preservation and management of government records to state, county, city, and state university officials; and to collect, preserve, and provide access to historically significant archival materials relating to North Carolina. SANC’s collections include everything from early 17th century documents and maps to digital media and electronic records produced by current state agencies, including digital audiovisual and geospatial materials.

On Thursday, January 26th, we kick of another season of CoSA Member Webinars. As has become our tradition, the first webinar of the new year focuses on upcoming CoSA organizational and programmatic directions. This year will be similar with one major difference: we'll be discussing just a handful of issues so that we can tell you more and answer your questions about them better. Topping the list is the work of the Sustainability Task Force, which was organized right after the Annual Meeting last year. Meeting monthly, this group of colleagues has been listening to input from an array of stakeholders from members to allied organization representatives. They've shared a lot with us and now we are tasked with making meaning of it all. You're an important piece of the puzzle that is CoSA's future. We hope you'll tune in this Thursday, January 26th, to hear what we found out and to help us consider next steps. To register, visit https://www.statearchivists.org/programs/cosa-webinar-series/
