About the Council of State Archivists

The Council of State Archivists is the national association of the directors of state archival agencies in every state, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. Two-thirds also administer statewide records management services. CoSA’s 56 members manage combined budgets of approximately $200 million annually, authorize departmental purchases, and influence statewide spending. Their agencies protect the rights and history of the American people nationwide.
