SHRAB Support Center
All 50 states plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have a State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB) led by a State Coordinator who is the State Archivist or someone designated by the State Archivist to serve in that role. SHRABs have a special relationship with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the grant-making arm of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). Authorized under NHPRC regulations, SHRABs are responsible for reviewing grant proposals submitted to NHPRC from organizations in their states. SHRABs also undertake statewide planning for historical records and often take on additional leadership or coordination roles. This SHRAB Support Center is designed to make the work of both SHRAB members and the State Coordinators easier. It contains materials that directly apply to the SHRAB's core grant review responsibilities as well as additional links to a variety of tools from CoSA and other organizations that have proved useful to SHRABs nationwide.
