This is an opportunity to share information about what you are doing to manage your state’s digital resources and to enlist help in preserving electronic records. This celebration is designed to raise awareness among state government agencies, the general public, related professional organizations, and anyone else who can assist in this endeavor.
Members of the CoSA State Electronic Records Initiative’s Advocacy and Awareness Subcommittee are exploring avenues for promotion, including the use of social media, press releases, and suggested steps people can take to help protect and preserve their digital records. We encourage you to share information on this with your constituents. This does not have to be a large event; it could be a blog or Facebook post, a tour of your archives, a presentation, or any other way of letting people know what you do and what needs to be done. The purpose is to raise community awareness of our digital records, and of the need to manage and preserve them.
We have created two documents to help get the message out.
Please feel to use these documents as they are or adapt them for your needs.
