Promoting IPER and recruiting students
Development and execution of a plan to promote the IPER project and recruit students will ideally be a joint effort of each state and territory's Leadership Team and Instructional Team.
Factors to consider in developing a promotion plan:
- Which groups are the most important to reach with IPER training?
- What channels now exist for communicating with the target audiences (e.g., conferences, listservs, newsletters)?
- Are there places that state and local government employees typically look for training (e.g., local government association conferences, state employee training programs) and, if so, can the IPER training be integrated with it?
- Are there certification programs that would provide credit for participation in IPER training thereby increasing the incentive to participate?
