Developing
Curricula for the Web
"It's All in the Design: Making it Work, Piece By Piece."
from
the American Memory Project, Library of Congress.

This excellent
site is designed to guide K-12 teachers through the process of
developing and delivering curricula via the Web using primary
source materials. The advice and tools can easily translate to
any Web curriculum development effort. An added bonus will be
to help archivists help teachers use their own repository's collections
more effectively. Other recommended educational resources available
on the Web are accessible from http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/ndlpedu/educators/workshop/design01/olinks.html
Macromedia
has a wealth of resources for developing online educational programs.
"Macromedia is committed to bringing the power and potential
of Web technology into the classroom. We offer preferred education
pricing, curricula, training, and partnerships for educators. Our
award-winning products empower students and educators to develop
the most engaging Web sites and instructional authoring applications
on the Web." http://www.macromedia.com/resources/elearning/
24 Measures

by NEA and Blackboard Inc."

Software
for Web site development
Macromedia's
Dreamweaver is becoming a favorite of Web site developers
in general. The latest version accommodates the free Coursebuilder
add-on package specifically designed to ease the development of
Web-based training sites. A demonstration version is available
at http://www.macromedia.com
Another software
package to look at is the Hot Potatoes suite. It allows
you to create interactive multiple-choice, short -answer, jumbled-sentence,
crossword, matching/ordering, and gap-fill exercises for the Web.
